Learning Your Studying Style
by Nyana Slaughter

School can be really hard at times… Especially, if you don’t study. How many times have you been at school and your teacher gives a pop up quiz? You get this shocked look on your face, because you know you did everything else except study last night. This has happened to me multiple times and I have had that same shocked look on my face. Until every night, I took 30 minutes to study.

It became awesome… okay, I’m lying. I hated it with passion, but it truly helped me in the end. Those pop quizzes and tests became a little less challenging.

A couple of times, I failed at the 30 minutes of study time. But that’s only because I didn’t know what my studying style was. Well you’re probably wondering what is a studying style?? Your personal studying style is when you figure out what is the best way for you to study. Just write out what you can and cannot do during studying. For example, for me study needs to include:

  • No music
  • Yes food
  • No TV
  • Must be quiet
  • Writing what I’m studying five times or more
  • Using flash cards

Now once you figure that all out, you are now ready to study! Some good ways to study are to use flashcards, write things out multiple times, put it in a picture, find multiple sources for what you learned and practice it in many ways.

There are so many ways to study. Every individual has to find his or her own way.

I hope this was helpful and good luck!
